EPCRA: Tier II Reports & Emergency Release Notifications

The Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA or SARA Title III) requires you to inform your community of the hazardous chemicals that are stored or used at your site, as well as releases of these chemicals to the environment. This live online course provides you with a complete understanding of what Sections 302–312 of the EPCRA law require as well as detailed instructions on how to ensure your facility is in compliance.

Are you ready to meet EPA’s March 1 deadline for EPCRA Tier II reports? Now is the time to determine if you must submit a Tier II report and learn how to prepare your report in accordance with EPA’s latest requirements.

At this live web-based session, you will learn how to:

  • Identify which chemicals are subject to EPCRA reporting
  • Notify the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) of the name of your emergency coordinator
  • Identify releases that trigger immediate notifications and how to report them
  • Submit safety data sheets (SDSs) or a list of hazardous chemicals to the LEPC, state, and fire department
  • Determine whether the chemicals at your site trigger Tier II reports
  • Calculate your reportable inventory of liquids, gases, and mixtures
  • Complete and submit Tier II reports
  • Handle difficult situations, such as what to do if you failed to file prior year EPCRA reports or need to update past reports

The course handbook, How to Comply with the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, is included as a downloadable document.
